Stonemasonry Level 2 Intermediate Apprenticeship

Course Overview

This Apprenticeship is aimed at those people who want to work in Stonemasonry. It provides a practical hands on experience during which you will be learning to prepare for the job, setting out and producing architectural stone work. The course will provide you with a broad knowledge, understanding and skills training to become qualified within Stonemasonry. You will work as a Banker/Fixer Mason and produce bespoke work to carve architectural features, cut and shape blocks and lay or fit stonework into place on construction projects.

 

What topics are covered?

  • Level 2 Diploma in Stonemasonry – Banker (Construction)
  • Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Stonemasonry (Banker Masonry or Stone Fixing)
  • Functional Skills in English Level 2
  • Functional Skills in Maths Level 2

 

What are the entry requirements?

There are no specific entry requirements for this course, although maths and English GCSEs at C or above are desirable.

How will I be assessed?

Assessment in the workplace with college day release plus exams.

 

What can I do after this course?

Achievement of this qualification provides an opportunity to progress to further qualifications and training such as: Stonemasonry Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship, Level 3 Construction Diploma in Stonemasonry – Banker (training qualification), Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Stonemasonry – Banker Masonry or Stone Fixing, Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Occupational Work Supervision.
