5 reviews for Studio Painting

  1. 4 out of 5

I really enjoyed the course. It was brilliant for me to be able to get back into painting. The quality of the teaching was very high. Both Jonathan and Katy are professional, hard working and inspirational.

The reason I have given a 4 rating and not a 5 is to do with the accommodation of the course. The room in Herschel was too small for everyone to be able to spread out and, most importantly for me, the temperature was unbearably high and really uncomfortable causing headaches and the need to constantly leave the room to get oxygen and to cool off. Such a shame as everything else was so excellent.

    • Thank you for your feedback on both the course and the facilities. We will certainly look into your comments regarding the space available for the course and try to resolve this for future sessions.

This is an excellent course. The tuition is excellent with lots of motivation and suggestions for improving your technique and artistic perceptions. As a pupil for the past two years, I can safely say that I have improved dramatically and have enjoyed every minute. If you commit you can’t fail.

  4. 5 out of 5

A great course. Tuition is excellent, with stimulating demonstrations, discussions and critiques, and the tutor is very supportive in all areas – practical, theoretical and artistic. Everyone is very motivated and the atmosphere is focused, engaging and productive. If you’re committed to improving your work you’ll get a lot out of it.

I highly recommend this course to anyone wishing to learn the techniques involved in learning to paint. The teaching is exceptional and of a very high standard. We cover drawing with pen, charcoal and any other implement for making marks as well as paint. Basically what this course is teaching me is to let go of my preconceived ideas of how paint works. I love it.
