Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools Level 3 Certificate
This level 3 qualification is delivered on a part time basis, with a course available at our Somer Valley Campus, and during a morning off site in Hartcliffe, Bristol. It is tailored for those individuals who have experience of working or volunteering in a school, and who have previous learning at level 2 or above. It will provide you with the skills and knowledge required to support learning in schools. You will be expected to attend College one day a week to obtain the theory element of the programme, which will include written assignments. In addition, your practice will be observed and assessed in your workplace. You will be expected to have some basic IT capability at level 1 and English and Maths at GCSE grade C (or an equivalent qualification).

Who is the course aimed at?
This course is aimed at individuals and sector professionals working in a school, who wish to enhance their skills for the benefit of their learners, and gain a recognised qualification.
What are the entry requirements?
You will need to be currently working in a school or looking to volunteer as a Teaching Asssitant. You will also need a level 1 qualification (or equivalent) in English, Maths, – or be prepared to upskill to obtain these qualifications.
What qualifications will I gain?
You will obtain a Level 3 City & Guilds qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.

How will I learn?
You will learn through attending the scheduled sessions to ensure you receive the required input. Your learning will be enhanced through group work including discussions, role play, and project work. You will be expected to complete a number of assignments at the required standard, and receive workplace observations where you will be given supportive feedback to enhance your learning further.
How will I be assessed?
The modules are assessed via a variety of methods: work sheet tasks, journals,reflections, portfolios, There are no exams for this qualification.
What can I do after this course?
You could enrol onto our Advanced Apprenticeship; both pathways will allow you to progress onto the Foundation Degree which is a two-year, part time programme delivered through Bath College.
How much does this course cost?
This level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning costs £1417.
Are there any additional costs?
This has yet to be confirmed, but you will be informed at interview.
Where will I need to go on my first day?On your first day, please report to the Reception in the Cam Building at Somer Valley Campus.
What do I need to bring?
You will need to bring proof of identity, and evidence of your UK residency status (for example a passport or visa).
What else do I need to know?To avoid disappointment, please make sure you apply for your chosen course early. Decisions regarding running or cancelling a course are made one week prior to the start of the course. If a course is cancelled, you will be informed and your course fees refunded in full.
