Swedish Body Massage Level 3 Diploma

This course is suitable for those interested in learning basic massage techniques for the whole body. You will be working practically on each other. The course also includes anatomy, physiology and health and safety. Students will be expected to complete assignments from home.
What topics are covered?
This is a professional qualification and you will have to demonstrate practical skills and theoretical knowledge in the following areas: Swedish massage techniques, client consultation, health and safety, anatomy and physiology. You will also have to work on paying clients in the college’s academy.
Who is the course aimed at?
This part-time level 3 Swedish Body Massage course is suitable for those interested in learning basic massage techniques for the whole body.
What are the entry requirements?
You will need to have achieved a GCSE grade C/4 in English language as you will be studying Anatomy and Physiology at level 3. An interview will also be required.
What qualifications will I gain?
You will gain a Level 3 Diploma in Swedish Body Massage.

How will I learn?
As this is a very intensive course you will be expected to do a lot of theory work and home study to cover the anatomy, physiology, health and safety in order to pass the exam at the end of the course. You will present a portfolio of work on completion to include all theory work and evidence of all your practical treatments.
How will I be assessed?
Both practical and written units are internally assessed with multiple choice final exams. Continuous practical assessment is used to teach & develop vocational competence. Case studies will be needed. Students will be required to massage students and members of the public in a realistic working environment or clinic.
What can I do after this course?
You can gain employment in the prolific growth industry of spas, health hydros, cruise liners, leisure clubs and complementary therapy clinics.
How much does this course cost?
This level 3 Swedish Body Massage course costs £700.

Additional costs include:
- A recommended book list is issued at the first session.
- Uniform – order form issued at first session. (Uniform consists of: Navy tunic, Navy trousers, Black flat enclosed shoes. Student can supply own as long as it compiles with college dress code)

Where will I need to go on my first day?On your first day, please report to the Reception in the Roper Building at City Centre Campus.
What do I need to bring?
Code of dress: uniform must be worn in the beauty salon; facial and tongue piercing is not permitted; hair must be neatly tied back off the face; nail extensions and varnish must not be worn; only a small pair of stud earrings and a wedding ring are allowed to be worn in the salon.
What else do I need to know?To avoid disappointment, please make sure you apply for your chosen course early. Decisions regarding running or cancelling a course are made one week prior to the start of the course. If a course is cancelled, you will be informed and your course fees refunded in full.
