Wine Tasting and Appreciation
Do you want to understand more about the wines you buy when eating out or entertaining at home. This Wine Tasting course will give you an understanding and knowledge of what to choose. No prior experience necessary.
What topics are covered?
You will cover a range of topics over the day such as:
- Wine – what is it, how is it made, where does it come from?
- Quality vs Price
- Understanding wine labels
- Tasting techniques – appearance – smell – taste
Who is the course aimed at?
This course is suitable for anyone interested in wine. No knowledge or experience necessary.
What are the entry requirements?
You must be aged 18 or over, there are no other entry requirements.
Who will be my tutor?
Your course tutor will be Linda Piggott.
How will I learn?
You will learn through practical demonstrations of techniques and group discussion.
What can I do after this course?
After completing this course you can progress to a range of qualifications with the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET).
Where will I need to go on my first day?On your first day, please report to the Reception in the Roper Building at City Centre Campus.
What do I need to bring?
Please bring with you a pen and a notepad.
What else do I need to know?To avoid disappointment, please make sure you enrol on your chosen course early. Decisions regarding running or cancelling a course are made one week prior to the start of the course. If a course is cancelled, you will be informed and your course fees refunded in full. The course will not run on bank holidays or during half term. Please check the term dates.
