This course is designed for you to explore creative processes using mixed media. Experiment with art and textiles, exploring different techniques and processes through colour, tones and layering with cloth, paper and paint to create a fashion design product or a piece of textile art. Ideal for those wanting to develop their creative responses and interests to creating a portfolio of work and a product

Who will be my tutor?
Emma Trussler, an alumni of Bath Spa Unversity, where she completed her Masters in MA Design Fashion and Textiles. Emma takes inspiration from colours, surfaces and patterns – her process begins with photos and sketches before she creates a watercolour painting and finally turns them into prints or embroidery pieces. The focus in her research for her MA was based on her time in China over a 3-year period. Click on Instagram link below to see more.

What can I do after this course?
Where will I need to go on my first day?On your first day, please report to the Reception in the Roper Building at City Centre Campus.
What do I need to bring?
Please bring your own research material: 10 images that you have an interest in working with eg floral arrangements, landscapes, beaches, trees, lighting, reflections. Notebook and pen. Fabrics of your choice – you will need to source your own fabrics later on in the course and advice will be given by your tutor. Fabric will be provided for initial sampling. Materials are provided but if you have any specific pens, paint and material you would like to use please bring.
What else do I need to know?When you have been enrolled on your course you will receive a confirmation email containing information about where to go, campus information, parking and the Student Code of Conduct. This email will be sent to the email address provided in the online booking.You will be required to wear a photographic ID badge at all times when in College. Please email a passport style photograph stating your full name and course title in the subject line to StudentID@bathcollege.ac.uk
To avoid disappointment, please make sure you enrol on your chosen course early. Decisions regarding running or cancelling a course are made one week prior to the start of the course. If a course is cancelled, you will be informed and your course fees refunded in full. Please see Terms and Conditions of Enrolment.The course will not run on bank holidays or during half term. Please check the term dates.

Refunds will not be issued if a learner is unable to attend due to a change of mind including concerns about Covid-19, accommodation, domestic circumstances, work commitments or if the College requires a learner to leave for reasons of conduct.
