Garden Design: Ponds and Water Features

This garden design course will is ideal if you are thinking of adding a pond or water feature to your garden. Learn what to consider when creating ponds, choosing water features and suitable plants with advice from a professional garden designer. You are welcome to bring along ideas for your own front garden projects to be discussed in class.

Creating formal and informal ponds;
Ponds for wildlife;
Design ideas for imaginative water features;
Suitable plants for in the water and around the margins.

Who is the course aimed at?

This course is suitable for anyone who is considering adding a pond or water feature to their garden. Please note that this course is classroom based so there is no hands-on element.

Who will be my tutor?

The award winning garden designer Christine Pritchard. http://www.christinepritchard.co.uk/

How will I learn?

The students will be engaged with new ideas or techniques throughout both sessions.
Students will be shown samples of materials together with design ideas.
They will have regular opportuities to discuss their own gardening problems and solutions with feedback from the group and the tutor.

Where will I need to go on my first day?

On your first day, please report to the Reception in the Cam Building at Somer Valley Campus.

What do I need to bring?

Some photographs of their garden if they would like to. A pen/pencil.
Handouts will be provided.

What else do I need to know?

When you have been enrolled on your course you will receive a confirmation email containing information about where to go, campus information, parking and the Student Code of Conduct. This email will be sent to the email address provided in the online booking.You will be required to wear a photographic ID badge at all times when in College. Please email a passport style photograph stating your full name and course title in the subject line to StudentID@bathcollege.ac.uk

To avoid disappointment, please make sure you enrol on your chosen course early. Decisions regarding running or cancelling a course are made one week prior to the start of the course. If a course is cancelled, you will be informed and your course fees refunded in full. Please see Terms and Conditions of Enrolment.

The course will not run on bank holidays or during half term. Please check the term dates.
