Animal Care (Work-based) Level 2
This dynamic Animal Care Level 2 course provides a comprehensive introduction to all aspects of animal care including health and wellbeing, grooming, accommodation needs and nutrition by providing a mixture of theory and practical work in our onsite animal collection. You will be taught how to effectively care for a large range of species in line with the latest industry standards and will work closely with your work-placement to develop the practical skills necessary to gain employment or progress onto further animal care qualifications.

- Establish and maintain effective working relationships

- Maintain accommodation
- Move animals
- Promote and maintain health and well-being
- Prepare accommodation and reduce risks to health and safety

Who is the course aimed at?
This course is most suited for people aged 16-18 who are just starting (out on their) vocational learning.
What are the entry requirements?
- Four full GCSEs at grade D/3 or above including maths and English language, or a level 1 diploma
- Previous work experience in working with animals
- You will also need to attend a formal interview and pass an initial assessment in literacy and numeracy to a minimum of level 1.
