Art and Design Level 2
This Art and Design level 2 course is a progression from the Level 1 course. You will continue to develop your core techniques and have the chance to explore areas including drawing, printmaking, surface design, moving image, photography, ceramics and sculpture. You will also look at the history of Art and Design and learn to use research to improve your own work. Gallery visits and field trips will provide inspiration for your projects. You will be assessed through coursework produced in sketchbooks and using digital methods. The course finishes with an art exhibition where you will showcase your final work.

Who is the course aimed at?
This nail course is most suited for people aged 16-18 who are just starting (out on their) vocational learning.
What are the entry requirements?
Four GCSEs at grade D/3 or above OR BTEC Level 1 Diploma in Art and Design or equivalent
You must also demonstrate during your interview a creative ability for art and design through a current portfolio of art work.
What qualifications will I gain?
UAL Level 2 Diploma.

Studio and workshop activities, visiting lecturers, cultural visits in the UK and overseas.
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed through coursework.
What can I do after this course?
This course is an ideal preparation for the extended diplomas in art and design, graphics, fashion or photography. Many students then go on to undergraduate courses, or to a range of art and design-related careers.
Are there any additional costs?
There is a studio fee for digital printing and photography.
Most of the bulk art materials will be provided, but you will be expected to maintain a personal art materials box for daily use.An Art Starter Kit containing the basic equipment you will need is available to purchase through the College Shop.
