Health Care Practice HNC
This exciting Health Care Practice for England study programme combines theory and practice based assessment to enable you to develop the knowledge and skills required to meet the demands of a career in the healthcare sector.

Who is the course aimed at?
This programme is for those already employed in the sector, or those who have undertaken a placement of significant duration in health and social care. You will need to be able to apply theory to practice, therefore placements and/or employment form an essential part of this programme. There are opportunities to work with our local partners on placement rotations, as well as gaining access to the most up to date training and equipment.
What are the entry requirements?
To join the course you will need:
- Five GCSEs at C/4 or above including English and maths
- Level 3 qualification (MMP minimum) in a relevant vocational area
and/or relevant work experience
- A clean Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) statement
Mature students will be considered on an individual basis.
What qualifications will I gain?
You will gain a Level 4 HNC in Health Care Practice.

How will I learn?
The course will be delivered using a blend of teaching and learning methods and will include lectures, group activities, written tasks, personal research, practice based work (work experience) and tutorials.
How will I be assessed?
A variety of assessment methods will be used to enrich your learning experience including; work-based assessment, reflective logs, case studies, projects, professional discussions and group work.
What can I do after this course?
You can progress to the second year of the programme which will see you achieve the Higher National Diploma (HND) in Health Care Practice or you can progress onto employment.

Where will I need to go on my first day?On your first day, please report to the Reception in the Roper Building at City Centre Campus.
