Video Editing – Introduction
An introduction to non-linear digital video editing with Adobe Premier Pro CC, used widely in the video and television industry. Explore a variety of introductory editing techniques and the workflow of an edit including capturing video, cutting, refining, working with audio, titles and effects, colour correction and finishing the edit for exporting. Ideal for complete beginners with no editing experience, however you do need a working knowledge of how to use an Apple Mac computer.

Brief look at the history of editing. Overview of the user interface. Setting up a project. Importing video files. Basic editing techniques. Working with audio. Exporting video files for the web and YouTube.

Who will be my tutor?
Juliet Russell has over 20 years experience in the media industry. She has edited news and factual programmes for the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and the BBC World Service. She has worked around the world training people to edit offline and online. Juliet is currently a freelance film maker and also works with the BFI film academy mentoring and supporting young inspiring filmmakers.

Where will I need to go on my first day?On your first day, please report to the Reception in the Roper Building at City Centre Campus.
