Media Production Level 2
This Media Production Level 2 course will provide you with an introduction to both the creative and technical aspects of media and communication, enabling you to acquire the requisite skills, knowledge and understanding to progress to further education and employment within the media and communication industries. You will explore a wide range of skills including print design and layout, video filmmaking, animation techniques for games and web design and more.
What topics are covered?
The UAL Level 2 Diploma draws upon approaches to teaching and learning in the arts that have proven successful in preparing students for employment and progression to level 3. Through an immersive and demanding curriculum it will support the transition from school to a creative and more independent approach to learning.
You will explore a wide range of skills including:
- Print design and layout
- Video filmmaking
- Animation techniques
- Web design
- You will be taught how to use web 2.0 technologies in order to produce an online learning blog and as a tool to aid the promotion of your work/show reel.

Who is the course aimed at?
This course is most suited for people aged 16-18 and may also meet the needs of mature students up to 20 years.
What are the entry requirements?
The minimum entry requirements for this course are four GCSEs at grade D/3 or above plus a successful interview.
You will be asked to respond to a set brief and bring this work with you to the interview.

How will I learn?
The course involves work in both classroom and studio/workshop settings. You will also be expected to work independently outside of College hours.
How will I be assessed?
You will get feedback at the end of each unit or project to help you improve on your learning and performance. Graded, more formal assessment of your practical contribution to a media project will take place at the end of the year.
What can I do after this course?
Many students progress on to the Level 3 UAL Diploma in Creative Media Production and Technology or on to other level 3 programmes.

A studio fee of £90 will be required as a contribution towards the cost of course resources.
