Professional Cookery Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship

Course Overview

This level will suit you if you’ve worked in a professional kitchen for some time, or have a Level 2 qualification. Your work might involve supervising others. You may want to develop your skills further, perhaps to become a specialist chef or move into a management role. This qualification is ideal if you have a supervisory role in a kitchen – perhaps as a chef de partie or demi chef – and are aiming for a promotion.

 

What topics are covered?

  • NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Professional Cookery
  • Level 3 Award in Hospitality and Catering Principles
  • Functional skills at Level 2 in English and Maths

How will I be assessed?

Assessment of the NVQ is carried out in the workplace and the assessor will help your employee to identify any gaps in their knowledge or skills and plan to close these gaps through exercises and activities set between assessment visits.

 

Assessment of the other elements will take place in College with a tutor on a day release programme.

What can I do after this course?

Successful learners could progress in industry or go to university.
