Professional Cookery Level 2 Intermediate Apprenticeship

Course Overview

This Apprenticeship can help you become a chef or progress to a more senior chef’s role. You will gain a high standard of cookery skills and learn other workplace essentials like health and safety and food safety in a kitchen. This qualification ensures all learners will cover the basic skills required to become a chef. It allows learners to gain a real working experience and gain a qualification at the same time.

What topics are covered?

  • NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Professional Cookery
  • Level 2 Certificate in Hospitality and Catering Principles
  • Functional skills in English Level 2
  • Functional skills in Maths Level 2

What are the entry requirements?

There are no specific entry requirements for this course

How will I learn?

Assessment in the workplace with day release at college plus exams

How will I be assessed?

Assessment of the NVQ is carried out in the workplace and the assessor will help your employee to identify any gaps in their knowledge or skills and plan to close these gaps through exercises and activities set between assessment visits.

Assessment of the other elements will take place in College with a tutor on a day release programme.

What can I do after this course?

Successful candidates can progress to the level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship
