Sport, Health and Fitness Level 2
This course is designed for students wishing to qualify as a fitness instructor who is able to move straight into employment in a gym or leisure centre. This programme is delivered in our onsite gym, and enables you to work with real gym users to deliver training sessions and exercise classes.

Who is the course aimed at?
This course is suitable for those aged 16-18.
What are the entry requirements?
You must possess four GCSEs grade D/3 or above, including English and maths. Alternatively you will need an appropriate Level 1 qualification, e.g. Level 1 in Sport and Leisure.
How will I learn?
You will cover theoretical elements of the course in the classroom, with practical sessions in the onsite gym.
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed through exams and practical assessment of your competence through observation.
What can I do after this course?
Enrol onto our Level 3 fitness courses. Move onto employment in the sport, fitness and leisure industries, as a sports development officer, sports coach or fitness instructor.
Are there any additional costs?
You will need to purchase the College kit package which includes tracksuit trousers, T Shirt and Top.
What funding is available?
If you are aged 19 or over you may be eligible to apply for a 19+ Advanced Learning Loan to cover your tuition fees
What facilities are available?
The College has a well-equipped fitness gym.
What organisations does the College work with on this course?
The College has exciting links with Southampton FC, Bath City FC, England RFU Touch and England Netball, with students having the opportunity to get ‘Back to Netball’ and involved in O2 touch.
